Welcome to SPARKS

SPARKS R/C is the radio control model aircraft flying club located in Pinellas County.  Visitors are welcome to walk through this site as well as come to the field.  Members are flying model aircraft almost everyday weather permitting.

While you can view the News Center and wander around, to be able to reply to messages, upload photos, etc, you will need to "Join" the News Center.  It is very simple to register a user name and password.

This is a moderated News Center- which means if you post something the administrators feel is offensive, it will be removed.  If you do this repeatedly, your membership will be cancelled.  Keep it "G" rated.

This News Center hosts a lot of SPARKS information including a Message Forum where News and Events are published as well as Discussions of almost every aspect of R/C model aircraft and helicopters.

There is also a Photo gallery where we post pictures taken at the field and at events hosted at the field. Please conatct the administrator if you wish to upload photos.

Information about Landfills- rumors continue to circulate about the future, check these links and learn why the field will be here for a long time.

The local authorities are totally responsible for the landfill. Initially they must meet federal EPA guidelines for the maintenance and closing of a landfill. Those reg’s are known as CFR 40 parts 257 and 258. If a developer is allowed to purchase the landfill, there should be disclosures and deed references, etc., as well as a personal liability to the risk of human health and environmental hazard.  The restrictions date back to 1983 (I think).
